Open since 1974, some things in Redondo Beach never change — and that’s exactly the point.
 
When Rod’s Char-Broiler first opened its doors on Artesia Boulevard in 1974, Redondo Beach was a different place. The faces have changed. The city has grown. But the smell of a charbroiled burger coming off the grill — that’s stayed exactly the same.

We’ve served breakfast to fishermen heading to the pier, lunch to generations of high schoolers, and dinner to families celebrating everything from first dates to graduations. We watched the neighborhood change around us, and we changed with it — adding new favorites to the menu while never letting go of the classics that made us who we are.
 
When you walk through our door, you’re not just eating at a burger joint. You’re part of something that has fed this community for over half a century. And we don’t take that lightly.
